Every year Esri honours the work of our users in the form of prestigious user recognition awards. These awards recognize user organizations who have applied geospatial technology innovatively to address the needs of their industries and communities, defining GIS best practices. Organizations that are honored span multiple domains from agriculture, forestry, cartography, climate change, defense and intelligence, economic development, education, government, health and human services, telecommunications, and utilities.

Making The Difference Award


Making the Difference award recognizes organization that leverages GIS technology to develop systems for the benefit of our society and impacting citizen’s lives.

Maharashtra Remote Sensing Applications Centre (MRSAC)

This award is for the work done in GIS enabled e-governance applications across areas such as education, health, land records, water and agriculture over years using Esri technology.

Special Achievement in GIS Award


SAG awards recognize users who have applied geospatial technology innovatively to address the needs of their industries and communities while defining GIS best practices.

Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA)

This award is for the work done in the OneMap Gurugram, a GIS integrated support system for citizens, businesses and government departments.

HDFC Ergo General Insurance Company (HDFC Ergo)

This award is for the work done in using Esri GIS for managing the production risks faced by the agricultural sector and providing insurance coverage to all farmers for their crops as notified by the state governments supporting the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY).

National Hydrology Project, Department of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation

This award is for the work done in the development of a WebGIS based Water Information System under NHP program.

Achievement in GIS Award


Aryabhatta Geo-informatics & Space Application Centre (AGiSAC)

This award is for the work done in the implementation of Spatial Data Infrastructure (SDI) using Esri GIS technology for the state of Himachal Pradesh which powers GIS based applications of various departments.

Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN)

This award is for the work done in building a WebGIS platform as a part of R-APDRP program for asset mapping while also empowering its field force with GIS based mobile apps portfolio to integrate and automate utility process workflows.

Department of Planning, Statistics and Programme Monitoring (DPSPM), Govt of West Bengal

This award is for the work done in the GIS implementation spanning various application areas such as transportation, water, tourism and rural development by District Spatial Data Centres (NRDMS) at all districts under Department of Planning.

NLC India Limited

This award is for the work done in the implementation of GIS based Lignite Information System (ILRIS) for all working Lignite Mines.

State Crime Record Bureau Odisha Police

This award under Odisha Police is for the work done in implementing a WebGIS platform for accident analysis as a part of CCTNS program.

Young Scholar Award


Young Scholar Award Created by Esri Founder and President Jack Dangermond, and coordinated by Esri’s international distributors and Esri’s international and education teams, the Esri Young Scholars Award program was launched in 2012, and winners are honored each year at the Esri User Conference.
