According to the GeoBuiz-18 report the GIS and Spatial Analytics market is estimated to grow from US$66.2 billion in 2017 to US$88.3 billion in 2020, growing at a CAGR of 12.4%. This high level of growth require trained and qualified manpower to cater to the needs of the industry and further innovation. To bridge the palpable demand-supply gap and to promote GIS skilling for the youth, a lot needs to be done and primarily this would require a calibrated multi-pronged strategy and active coordination between the industry and academia, along with support from the government.
