Every year Esri India honors the work of Esri users in India via Making a Difference and Special Achievement in GIS (SAG) awards. Organizations that are honored span multiple domains from agriculture, forestry, cartography, climate change, defense and intelligence, economic development, education, government, health and human services, telecommunications, and utilities. Making a Difference award recognizes users who are doing a remarkable and extraordinary application for benefit of our society. SAG awards recognize users who have applied geospatial technology innovatively to address the needs of their industries and communities while defining GIS best practices.
Making a Difference Award
Department of Information Technology & Communication (DoIT&C), Rajasthan is implementing a unified state-wide GIS based Decision Support System ‘Rajdharaa’. The system is helping in effective policy planning, decision making and monitoring of various schemes / programmes being executed across the State and is a benchmark for other states to implement.

Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd (RJIL) is using GIS at enterprise level spanning multiple departments, users, field workers and decision makers for the 4G network planning and roll-out
