Many organizations use ArcGIS to share and work with open data. People are looking for ways to liberate data so they can meet mandated transparency requirements and enable greater insights. Esri offers options to make that data liberation possible.
ArcGIS Open Data
Build an open data community with ArcGIS Open Data. This feature of ArcGIS Online is a way to find public data for your GIS and share your own authoritative data with the public. All vector datasets are automatically available for download as CSV, KML, and Shapefiles and accessible via the GeoJSON and GeoService APIs.
ArcGIS makes it easy to integrate OpenStreetMap (OSM) data into your maps and apps. OpenStreetMap is an open, collaborative project designed to create a free, editable map of the world. Volunteers gather and upload location data using GPS, local knowledge, and other free sources of information.
