Dr. Debapriya Dutta
Adviser/Scientist 'G', NRDMS-NSDI division, DST

Dr. Debapriya Dutta completed his Ph.D from the Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi and joined the National Agricultural Research Service of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). He served as Scientist in the Central Soil and Water Conservation Research and Training Institute, Dehradun,. He joined the Natural Resources Data Management System (NRDMS) Division of the Department of Science & Technology, Government of India in 1994 as Senior Scientific Officer-I and was serving in the same Department as Scientist ‘F’ / Director, till May, 2008. Thereafter, he was appointed as the Counselor (Science and Technology) in the Embassy of India, Washington D.C.during 2008-2012. At this responsibility, he handled the India and USA Science and Technology Cooperation at Policy, Projects and Programme levels in the sectors of health, energy, climate and environment and education. During September, 2012-2015, he assumed the responsibility of Director, Indo-French Centre for the Promotion of Advanced Research (IFCPAR), a bilateral organization to promote collaborative research between India and France in cutting edge Science and Technology. Currently, he is serving as Adviser/Scientist ‘G’ in the NRDMS-NSDI division of the Department of Science & Technology, Government of India.

Dr. Debapriya Dutta was deputed to the Blackland Soil and Water Research Institute, University of Texas, Texas, USA as UNDP visiting scientist during 1998. He completed his Post Doctoral Fellowship in Geo-information Management from the International Institute for Geo-Information Science and Earth Observation (ITC), the Netherlands in 2003-2004. He was awarded Senior Professional Research Fellowship on “Groundwater Governance” from International Water Management Institute (IWMI), Sri Lanka in 2006-2007.

His areas of expertise and research interests are application of Geo-informatics for Natural Resources Management (Focus on Land and Water), Watershed management technologies, Geo-information Management and Capacity Building for Local Level Planning and International S&T cooperation in the context of Sustainable Development Goals. He has number of publications in national and international journals and has authored three books.


Jay Krishnan

Jay Krishnan is a serial entrepreneur and investor with two successful million dollar exits in the US and India. In a career spanning over two decades, Jay has donned many hats. He has held leadership responsibility in Fortune 100 companies, managed large transformational initiatives, built new products offerings and helped create scale. In the startup space, Jay has successfully founded and exited multiple companies in the IoT space across the world.

In the capacity of CEO of T-Hub, Jay is responsible for its overall growth. He is the brain behind several tech innovations that has aided T-Hub to become amongst the most coveted incubators in India. It is due to his foresightedness that T-Hub works on a technology enabled platform for all startups/entrepreneurs across verticals. He has been instrumental in fostering innovation through technology platforms like Sandbox and Playbook to empower entrepreneurs with solutions at every stage of their journey.

Jay has a MS in Electrical Engineering from University of Hartford, Connecticut and is an alumnus of IIM, Bangalore where he did his executive MBA in General Management.

Prior to becoming the CEO of T-Hub, he has worked with various organizations in leadership positions including CISCO Systems, Radifinity Information Systems Pvt. Ltd. amongst others.

Jay is an avid reader with deep interests in emerging technologies. In his free time Jay enjoys reading and traveling.

He is recognised as a thought leader in the space of business intelligence, big data and analytics. Girish has experience in telecom, media, IT consulting, and financial services.

Girish is a tech-savant, with in-depth knowledge of emerging technologies. He is passionate about seeking out disruptive technologies and great innovators. Professionally he has been involved in multiple initiatives across telecom and media verticals involving new product design, concept development, and launch of VAS and content services.

He is an alumnus of St. Stephens’ College in Computer Science and an MBA from IMT Ghaziabad. For Girish, speed and focus is of essence during the initial stages of a start-up. His hobbies include teaching, cooking, astronomy and photography, and he is an avid traveler.


Digvijay Singh
COO, Indian Angel Networks

Digvijay is a professional with over 17 years of sales experience in leading companies across sectors. He has continuously built sales / distribution model from scratch in virgin territory and scaled it to national levels.

Digvijay is currently the COO at Indian Angel Network(IAN) handling the entire operational piece. IAN is India’s first and the world’s largest angel investor group with over 400 investors from 10 countries, over 100 company portfolio and growing spread across 7 countries and 17 sectors. It has been labelled as the Top Funder in India and providing perhaps the highest returns to seed / early stage investors. Digvijay leads deal origination nationally as well as drives the operations of the organisation across multiple functions.

Prior to moving to the entrepreneurial world, Digvijay was a corporate executive at Magic Bricks where he was leading a pan India Product and sales team. Spent 8 years at ICICI Lombard GIC Ltd. wherein he helped build the Distribution Network leading from the front & built the team which took this distribution network national. Before ICICI Lombard, Digvijay built from scratch the Apollo Tyres distribution organisation in Uttaranchal which was driven by dealer network. He built this in an entrepreneurial model and which has now become well entrenched in the state. Digvijay is a Post graduate and is a hands on business builder.


Ajay Ramasubramaniam
Director, Zone Startups

Ajay oversees the flagship accelerator operations as well as leads new initiatives, including corporate innovation programs and thematic accelerators under the Zone Startups brand.

Prior to Zone Startups India, Ajay led the India Operations of a Canadian ed-tech startup; wherein he helped the company set up in India and establish its initial partnerships, as well as raise INR 150 Cr. Ajay has also worked for the Government of Ontario, Canada for 5-years, where he was responsible for bilateral trade and investment relations between Ontario and India. He began his career working in Tanzania (East Africa) for 4 years, where he was involved in World Bank and African Development Bank projects. During this term, he assumed the role of an “intrapreneur”, and built a social enterprise in the agri-inputs value chain, wherein he built revenues in excess of $1Mn within the first 1.5 yrs.

Ajay is an MBA in Marketing & Finance and a B.Com in Financial Management from Mumbai University has 12+ years of cross-functional work experience with startups, international business and Governments, across North America, East Africa & South Asia.


Rajesh C. Mathur
Advisor, Esri India

Mr. Rajesh C. Mathur is Advisor, Esri India. Prior to that, he has held the position of Vice Chairman of the Board and President of the company.

Mr. Mathur is an Electrical Engineer from IIT Delhi. He has attended general management program conducted by Ross School of Business, University of Michigan. Mr. Mathur has been associated with the IT industry both in India and overseas for more than 30 years. He has handled assignments in General Management, Marketing, Corporate Planning and International Operations. Prior to his current assignment he has worked with Wipro, IDM and DCM Data Systems in India and USA.

As the head of Esri India, India’s premier GIS products and services company, Mr. Mathur spearheaded the growth of GIS deployment in India. He is actively involved with various professional bodies associated with the Indian GIS industry. He is currently Chair of FICCI Committee on Geospatial Technologies. He is also the President of Association of Geospatial Industries (AGI). He is a member of the Editorial Board of Geospatial Today. He is also associated with several academic institutions in an advisory role for their geospatial education program. He is a member of the Bureau of Indian Standards Committee on Geospatial Standards. He is also the former President of Indian Society of Geomatics (ISG) and was honored with ISG Fellowship in the year 2012. He has also been honored and acknowledged by the India Geospatial Forum by conferring Lifetime Achievement Award in year 2012 for his pioneering contribution to the Indian Geospatial Industry by creating awareness and demonstrating benefits of this wonderful technology in different walks of life in India.


Dean Angelides
Corporate Director - International Operations, Esri Inc.

Dean Angelides has worked with thousands of organizations to implement GIS technology to improve their operations and decision-making over his 40 year professional career. Nearly 30 years ago he co-founded a GIS services company located in California. He joined Esri in 2005.

Dean has worked with many different types of organizations and industries – local, regional and national governments, utilities, transportation and logistics firms, natural resources companies, engineering firms, agricultural concerns, conservation organizations, and health organizations. He has helped them devise strategies for incorporating GIS into their business, and then assisted them to successfully apply new methods to transform their organizations.

Mr. Angelides has advised many executives and business unit leaders on how to get the most from their GIS investments. He has also served on a variety of advisory councils for GIS at local, regional and national levels. He is currently on the Advisory Board for the Geospatial Innovation Facility at the University of California, Berkeley, where Dean did both graduate and undergraduate study.

In 2009, Dean was appointed as a Corporate Director by Jack Dangermond with responsibilities for overseeing all aspects of ESRI’s international operations, technology alliances, and business partnerships. He is dedicated to ensuring that Esri users are successful in their endeavors, and that The Science of Where and GIS technology and methods are successfully applied to overcome our toughest challenges around the world.
