GIS for Urban Transformation

Transforming the way urban areas are planned, developed and maintained is essential to support the population growth and urban expansion for a sustainable future.

Location is a common denominator in every aspect of city development and management, and hence a location platform i.e. a GIS based platform technology is at the ‘heart’ of every city developmental plan. The use of GIS needs to be established as a discipline in all aspects of urban transformation since the very beginning i.e. from the planning stage.

The focussed summit on GIS for Urban Transformation during Esri India Regional User Conference (East) will provide an opportunity for key stakeholders leading and driving the urban development programs on how they can leverage GIS to define and realize their vision of a city.
